Paws4ever Adoption Policies & Procedures

The Adoption Center is open during the following hours:
Wednesday thru Sunday: noon until 5:30pm
Monday and Tuesday: CLOSED

Potential adopters must be at least 18 years old.

Paws4ever requires each prospective adoptive family to complete an adoption application.

To help ensure compatibility, people who already have a dog at home must bring him/her to the adoption center to meet the prospective new pet.

Each dog adopter is highly encouraged to utilize their complimentary private training session with our Dog Training Program instructors.

New owners should schedule a routine physical for their new pet within one month of the adoption and should become aware of their local animal control laws.

All dogs must have a collar (NO prong, choke, or shock collars) and a non-retractable leash before going home with their new owners. All cats must be restrained in carriers.

No animal can be adopted to a residence with a no-pets policy. In cases where pet deposits are required a proof of deposit must be provided.

Paws4ever follows up on all adopted animals to ensure that the terms of the contract are being met.

The descriptions of dogs and cats we post are opinions and serve as guides to help place our dogs and cats in appropriate homes.

Please do not select a pet for the way he/she looks or for a particular breed. Be sure to select a pet that fits your schedule and your home.

Some of our animals have had difficult experiences in the past and haven’t fully recovered. They’re halfway there and need your love and support to make it all the way.

Consider adopting an older pet.

Paws4ever does not accept strays or surrenders because of its strong commitment to equal treatment of animals and to shelter animals.

Paws4ever does not adopt pets out as gifts.

Paws4ever is not a public shelter and relies entirely on modest program fees and contributions from the public. Please support Paws4ever. We make friends for life!
